Angel Alert Network was founded in 2007 by JoJo and Susan Copenhaver to prepare and to equip NGO and FBO personnel to assess and face the increasing danger confronting humanitarian workers and other individuals living abroad. Each year hundreds of aid workers travel overseas where they are unfamiliar with the culture, laws and legal system, untrained in safety and security practices, and often woefully unprepared should things go seriously wrong. At Angel Alert Network, our training combines site-specific practical planning as well as general emergency threat management to provide peace of mind as well as empowering aid workers to continue delivering the best possible relief and development worldwide. JoJo Copenhaver draws from 25 years of service in the United States Air Force Special Operations and Counterterrorism, accomplishing complex assignments in and/or with more than 100 nations on five continents. Upon retirement from the Air Force, JoJo managed an executive air service, which included logistical airlifts, U.S. Government diplomatic missions, humanitarian aid efforts, Distinguished Visitor travel, and extraction of personnel in/from dangerous situations.

Susan Copenhaver worked for over fifteen years with the Department of Defense, United States Department of State, and numerous foreign embassies in the Washington DC area. In addition, she assisted in all aspects of management and administration for their executive air service.

More recently, the Copenhavers have been managing humanitarian aid projects in Nyala, South Darfur, Sudan since September of 2007, implementing and managing relief and development programs such as community health & vocational training, clean water programs, and micro enterprise development.  This first-hand experience gives them a practical and thorough knowledge of the danger threatening aid workers world-wide.

The Copenhavers currently live in Conesus, New York and enjoy the natural beauty of the Finger Lakes Region. They have six grown sons.
